Her face was so severely disfigured that doctors had very little to work with. She will need many additional surgeries. She had no face left, no hands, no eyes, no nose, no lips. The chimp ripped her face off, and as she tried to defend herself, it tore off her hands. The photo appears to be right after surgery, with a lot of swelling and bruising. I'm sure she's grateful for any improvement.
